The Reception is Loud and Clear

By Charles Martin | March 28, 2008

I tested two 3d party reception services over the past 6 weeks and I haveta tell ya, the one that Seth [and I still love Seth very much] had on his blog was sub-par at best and the one I found by little-o Google is phenomenal.

This one I spent over $500 with in a 6 week period and found them to be having problems with too many calls coming in for the operators they had on staff. More set up for their local doctors and lawyers, my callers noticed many times that they were a bit “put out”. I am an outside seller with an office at home and having this service bring about clear organization for my calls is paramount. Not to mention the fact that mobile service at my office is spotty so my clients are offered a better, more fluid option with a receptionist that can “chase” me around the globe.

After too many instances of angst among my callers, I googled the same bit of info and found dear old Ruby Red. Actually its called Ruby Reception and they are considerably and noticeably better. They employ over 50 operators, they have a more robust software driver that knows the ins and outs of text messaging (my favorite crack pipe) and they announce the call to me with their name and a smooth transition. The other service was always hurried and huffy if I was long to find. I’ve answered thousands of calls in my Hollywood days and I know how I want my calls answered. There really is only one way.

This is the age of endless options and professional appearances on the cheap. I can be The Donald for only a few dollars a day and who’s to know the difference?

Oh ya… did I tell you the better service is cheaper by 40%? Like any business, if you’re good, you can make it work with less.
