More on the probono offer (sort of)
By Charles Martin | March 3, 2009
This came in my email box today. I think it relates. It’s interesting and I like it. I hope you do too. No religion required.
When you teach children, they become a part of you. In his book God Has a Dream: “A Vision of Hope for Our Time”, Archbishop Desmon Tutu describes this process best in his writing
about ubuntu:
“The first law of our being is that we are set in a delicate network of interdependence with our fellow human beings and with the rest of God’s creation. In Africa, recognition of our interdependence is called ubuntu, which is difficult to translate into English. It is the essence of being human. It speaks of the fact that my humanity is caught up and inextricably bound up in yours. I am human because I belong, I participate, I share.”
