Let’s Give J a Little Boost

By Charles Martin | March 26, 2009

Friends, I know a mom that’s a mom like any out there.

Hard working family gal.

Good friend to all.

We’ll call her J.

J was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma a few weeks ago.

Now, you and I know and hear of many of these stories and I don’t see J or her husband enough but I’m connected to them in big enough way that this is worrisome news at the hothead’s house.  She and her husband have a 4 1/2 year old.  I have boys the same age.  It would be devastating for everyone involved if her treatment didn’t work out. I can easily project what that would do to our home life if it were my wife.  Many of my readers have young kids.

It will work out though.  Chemo starts soon.  Surgery a bit later.  They have a very strong prayer network and everyone’s pulling for them.  These people are the warm center of the parties I go to.  Her husband is a person who works full-time helping young people find direction through sports.  They’re good folks in all aspects and I don’t say that about everyone.

I’d like to use the hothead’s traction and ask you to send out an uplifting email sending your best wishes, your best recipe, your andectdotal story… whatever!  I want to share in their need for privacy, so I’d like you to send the message to me at

 stinly at gmail dot com

SUBJECT LINE MUST READ: “TO J”  (w/o the quotes) [i have to filter the thousands of emails you'll send!]

I know you’ll do good so get out there and do it!    I’m sure I’ll get comments back or she’ll find you and you’ll connect with an awesome lady.  Not bad for a few minutes eh?

Go gettem’.
