Keep fighting

By Charles Martin | July 14, 2009

Just this week (and it’s only Tuesday) I won two wars.

An errant mark dropped on my bureau thanks to BofA and their egregious efforts to keep everyone in line in this economy.  I fought at every level and after two attempts and appeals at the highest office, I received a letter (do they still send those?) yesterday that the mark would be removed.  Later yesterday, I received a note from my insurance agent that I would actually be underwritten by my beloved Chubb for some additional insurance.  My new agent, a great guy named Mark Abernathy (you should definitely try him out) fought alongside until his professional options were exhausted.  I then had to go to NJ and ask the CEO for help.  Lo and behold, they decided their underwriting fears were for not and I’m upped where I want to be upped.

You gotta fight people.  You gotta find the hole (there always is one) and you gotta pry your way in.  The fellow I’ve worked with at BofA’s executive office is so tweaked and overworked that both of his letters to me (one good, one bad) had major typos.  He obviously uses the letter over and over and I got pieces of about three letters in one — both times!

This is the day of NO and you have to stand your ground on YES.  You may not be able to win every war, but insurance companies and banks expect you to do nothing but run once they put their hand in the air.

Go gettem!
